In addition, fans are invited to check out a sneak peek of the story from Chapter 3 until the exciting climax in Chapter 6, including some of the game’s new characters:

Chapter 3: Cloudy Sky: Guan Yu defends Jingzhou on his own as a jab against Cao Cao. He attacks Cao Ren in Xiangyang, wielding his impressive military might to clutch Jingzhou and get within firing distance of Cao Cao. There isn’t long to rejoice, however, as Sima Yi brainwashes Sun Quan of the Wu into breaking his alliance and attacking Guan Yu. Lu Su helps him escape the perilous situation, and he barely manages to make it away alive. While Sun Quan’s betrayal enrages Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Lu Su convince him to help free Sun Quan from his brainwashing.

Chapter 4: Seven Times: The Liu Bei forces renew their alliance with the Wu. With the battle against Cao Cao ahead, the Shu team consider an alliance with the Nanzhong region given its position behind them. However, Meng Huo, self-proclaimed King of Nanzhong, spreads a false rumor that the Shu have arrived to invade the region. The skilled warriors of the region meet them with resistance. Zhuge Liang sees this and takes an unexpected path, defeating Meng Huo only to release him repeatedly. Once freed, Meng Huo finds another capable warrior to bring into the fight against them, attacking again and again. What could Zhuge Liang be up to?

Chapter 5: Fall Crisis: Our heroes prepare for an all-out conflict with the Wei. Crossing the mountains of Hanzhong, they tread deep into Wei territory. Zhuge Liang’s tactics help the Northern Expedition proceed smoothly, with one Wei land after the next falling into their hands. However, at the Battle of Jieting, Ma Su ignores Zhuge Liang’s warnings and sets up base atop a mountain, leading to a crushing defeat. This critical loss puts the entire Northern Expedition in peril, changing the tides. Can Liu Bei and his comrades overcome this pitfall along the way…?

Chapter 6: Eternal Battle: As they continue their Northern expedition, Liu Bei and his troops face the Wei tactician Sima Yi in the Battle of Wuzhang. They find themselves up against an army of robots trained on data secretly gathered from capable generals. The entire plot comes together as they get a full picture of Sima Yi’s schemes. Find out what the genius tactician has up his sleeve in the thrilling conclusion to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms!

In this new trailer, our hero Kunio begins his next battle following the events of the story laid out in 2022’s River City: Saga Three Kingdoms. After the Battle of Red Cliffs, the narrative makes a mad dash towards the climax of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, the Battle of Wuzhang Plains, unfolding an alternative conclusion to the story arranged the River City way.

Follow the wild antics of over 100 River City characters coming together! The River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next sequel story begins following the Battle of Red Cliffs and continues with a mad dash towards the climax of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, the Battle of Wuzhang Plains. The beloved River City ruffian Kunio takes on the role of the hero of the Three Kingdoms, Guan Yu, joining the hot-blooded battle over the nation.

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next will include the following story and action gameplay:

● River City Cast in Three Kingdoms Roles – Including Kunio as Guan Yu, Misako as
Zhuge Liang, Goda as Liu Bei, Yamada as Cao Cao

● Romance of the Three Kingdoms Twists – The story of famous generals joining Liu Bei’s army in the battle against rival Cao Cao takes some inventive River City-style twists thanks to the influence of Kunio and his friends.

● Get on Red Hare and Send Enemies Packing! – Kunio can move through the stages on his motorcycle, Red Hare. Soar down the road while tossing enemies aside and even create your own customized Red Hare ride by collecting parts. Meeting certain
conditions can even change Red Hare into something other than a motorcycle…

● Arsenal of Flashy Tactics and Specials – Similar to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, game players can experience clever strategies employed by military tacticians.
○ Set the stage aflame with Fire Tactics
○ Wash the enemy base straight away with Water Tactics
○ Summon familiar faces to aid in battle with an all-new Tactic

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next is the sequel game to 2022’s River City Saga: Three Kingdoms on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam, which brought players a unique experience set during China’s Three Kingdoms period and was based on the popular Downtown Special: River City Historical Drama! game. The game saw River City characters enter China’s Three Kingdoms period and take on roles set within the historical tale, “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.”
